WILES & MAGUIRE: WORKING WITH CHURCHES

For churches dating from the Anglo Saxon to the 20th century work has ranged from simple reordering, surveys and the design of furniture to a new rectory and strategies for conservation and funding on major landmark churches. The growing reputation of Wiles and Maguire has been earned through hard work, attention to detail and a fresh outlook when contemporary design is required. We understand the liturgical significance to the layout of worship spaces and how this can be adapted for change without loosing meaning. Andrew Wiles has the RIBA/AABC accreditation currently essential for HLF funded repair projects and is also an architect member of the Sheffield DAC. Martha Maguire is an architect member of the Lincoln DAC.

Along with the traditional architectural service Wiles and Maguire offer: Quinquennial investigations. · Relighting schemes. · Conservation and management plans. Disabled access audits (in preparation for new legislation) - Stained glass design. Advice and applications under the HLF joint scheme for churches. Feasibility studies for both new build and repair. · Alternative energy solutions for remote sites -
